The study aims to identify the state pattern of the road network in the city of Salt, and its general characteristics. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive and analytical approaches were used, and the data of this study was collected from different sources, such as; the governmental reports and field surveys. Different methods of analysis and assessment were used in this study, such as; average nearest neighbor and Quantitative Analysis for the general characteristics of the road network, like; accessibility, detour index and density of the network roads. the study showed, through road network analysis, a high level of connectivity and linkage, and recommended the necessity of a comprehensive master plan of the city that takes into consideration the topography of the area, and the road network in the city. in addition, the study recommends reorganizing roads in the city to increase traffic flow.

تسعى الدراسة للتعرف إلى واقع شبكة الطرق في مدينة السلط وخصائصها العامة، ومن أجل تحقيق أهداف الدراسة فقد تم توظيف المنهاج الوصفي التحليلي، حيث تم جمع بيانات الدراسة من مصادرها المختلفة ومن أهمها: الوثائق والمسح الميداني، واستخدمت في الدراسة أساليب تحليل مكاني مختلفة، من أبرزها الجار الأقرب والتحليل الكمي للخصائص العامة لشبكة الطرق وأهمها: قياس درجة الاتصال من خلال الاستعانة بقرينتي بيتا وجاما، وقياس الدورانية من خلال الاستعانة بقرينة الفا، وتحديد كل من سهولة الوصول وقرينة الانعطاف وكثافة شبكة الطرق. وأظهرت نتائج تحليل شبكة الطرق في مدينة السلط ارتفاع درجة الاتصالية والترابط بشكل عام. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة إيجاد مخطط هيكلي شمولي للمدينة يمكن من خلاله التعرف على جغرافية المنطقة والتوزيع المكاني لشبكة النقل والمواصلات، وتحديد استعمالات الأرض في المدينة بالاعتماد على معايير علمية وتخطيطية سليمة، بالإضافة إلى إعادة تنظيم الطرق في المدينة؛ بهدف زيادة الانسيابية في حركة المركبات والتخفيض من الازدحامات المرورية.
